Is your roommate nowhere to be found every time you have a self tape? Is your mom, who isn't an actor or in the arts at all, giving you acting notes? Do you make your child read with you? We can help. It's not worth ruining your relationships over self tapes.
We can be your reader via FaceTime or Zoom. We are professional, efficient, and we would gladly be your reader WITHOUT giving you any attitude or making you feel guilty. You don't have to take on more chores in exchange for your partner's help. You don't have to see the dreaded " ... " as you await your friend's text response and freak out. You don't have to scare off your roommate. You don't have to justify your life choices to your mom. And, you don't have to give your child more screen time. Let us help you with your next self tape!
Should you need more than just a willing reader, we also provide coaching for your auditions, current and/or upcoming projects OR if you simply need a human and not an app to run lines with you.

How It Works
For Self Tapes:

Book your session and email your sides/materials to towncrierselftape@gmail.com.

If you are taping, please have your camera set up and ready to go before your appointment. We will be your reader via Zoom or FaceTime depending on what device you use to record your self tape.

If you want us to be your reader AND coach your self tape, please book a Coaching session.
PLEASE NOTE: We are simply your reader and/or coach. We are not responsible for taping or editing your tape.

OUR STORY
Actors/Teachers/Food Lovers
Hi there! Thanks for visiting our site! Joe and
Ka-Ling first met at UC Irvine. Joe was getting his MFA and Ka-Ling was getting her BA. They ran into each other 10 years later at a grocery store in Astoria...and the rest is their story. Joe and Ka-Ling have been in the industry for over 20 years. They have done regional work all over the country. They were also fortunate enough to travel with the Broadway tour of "War Horse" together. In addition to being working actors, they also teach acting. Between them, they teach at: NYU, Columbia University, Marymount Manhattan College, The New School, Tepper Semester, NYCDA and have taught at: NY Film Academy, SUNY Purchase, University of Iowa, and UC Irvine. They are both members of SAG/AFTRA, AEA, and the National Alliance of Acting Teachers. Ka-Ling is also a proud member of The Actors Center.
Joe and Ka-Ling love eating, going on urban hikes, traveling, and supporting the arts. Joe is also a professional mask masker. There isn't a bakery that Ka-Ling isn't interested in visiting. Her favorite cookies - Levain's Chocolate Peanut Butter and Oatmeal Raisin. Favorite cake - Deluxe's Lemon Raspberry Cake. Favorite pudding - Maganolia's Banana Pudding. Favorite Cheesecake - Joe's annual Thanksgiving Pumpkin Cheesecake.
